HAM Review & Gameplay Guide

I just spent the last few hours playing HAM and I'm still trying to process my thoughts on it. I went into this game not really knowing what to expect, I mean the title is just an acronym and the description is pretty vague, but I'd seen some friends playing it and they seemed to be having a blast. So I figured why not, I'll give it a shot. The first thing I noticed when I started playing was how weird the controls felt, it's like the devs took every conventional control scheme and just threw it out the window. It took me a good 20 minutes just to get used to moving my character around, and even then it still felt clunky at times.

But despite the wonky controls, I was determined to see what all the fuss was about. The game's visuals are actually pretty stunning, the environments are all super detailed and the character models are really well done. I found myself just wandering around and exploring, taking in all the little details and just enjoying the atmosphere. And then I stumbled upon the game's core mechanic, which is basically just a series of puzzles and challenges that you have to complete to progress through the game. Now, I'm not usually a big fan of puzzle games, but there's something about HAM that just clicked with me. Maybe it's the way the puzzles are all intertwined with the story, or maybe it's just the sense of satisfaction I got from finally figuring out a tough one, but whatever it is, it's got me hooked.

One thing that I do have to say is that the story in HAM is really something special. I don't want to give too much away, but let's just say that it's a real thinker. It's one of those games that makes you question everything, and just when you think you've got a handle on what's going on, it throws you a curveball and makes you rethink everything. I love games that can make me think, and HAM is definitely one of them. The writing is top notch, and the voice acting is superb, it's like you're really there, experiencing the story firsthand. I found myself getting completely absorbed in the world, and before I knew it, hours had passed and I was still playing.

Now, I know I've been gushing about HAM for a while now, but it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Like I mentioned earlier, the controls can be a bit of a pain, and there are some pretty frustrating difficulty spikes. There were a few times where I found myself getting stuck on a particular puzzle or challenge, and I had to take a break from the game just to calm down. But overall, I'd say that the good far outweighs the bad. The game's unique mechanics and engaging story make it a must play, even if it can be a bit of a headache at times. And besides, the sense of accomplishment you get from finally beating a tough level is totally worth it.

I think what really sets HAM apart from other games is its ability to balance challenge and reward. It's a game that's all about experimentation and exploration, and it really encourages you to think outside the box. There were so many times where I thought I was stuck, only to realize that the solution was right in front of me the whole time. It's a game that makes you feel smart, you know? And that's a really great feeling. Of course, it's not for everyone, I mean if you're the type of player who gets frustrated easily, then HAM might not be the game for you. But if you're looking for a challenge, and you're willing to put in the time and effort, then I'd highly recommend giving it a try.

Overall, I'm really glad I decided to play HAM. It's a game that's really stuck with me, and I find myself thinking about it even when I'm not playing. The game's unique blend of puzzle solving and exploration, combined with its engaging story and stunning visuals, make it a must play for anyone looking for a challenge. And even though it's not perfect, the game's flaws are easily overlooked in light of its many strengths. So if you're looking for a game that'll keep you on your toes, and make you think, then HAM is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared for a wild ride, because this game is not for the faint of heart.
