Not Drunk Yet! Review & Gameplay Guide

I just spent the last hour playing Not Drunk Yet and I'm still trying to process what just happened. I mean, I've played some weird games in my time, but this one takes the cake. The concept is pretty simple - you're at a party and you have to drink beer without, you know, getting too drunk. Sounds easy, right? Wrong. The controls are super sensitive, so one minute you're sipping on a beer, the next you're chugging an entire pint in one go. It's pretty hilarious, but also kinda frustrating.

The game's got a pretty cool retro aesthetic going on, with pixel art graphics and a sick soundtrack. It's definitely got a lot of style, and I love the attention to detail - from the way the characters stumble around when they're drunk, to the ridiculous party games you can play to try and sober up. But, I mean, the gameplay itself is pretty one-note. You're basically just trying to drink beer without getting too drunk, and it gets old after a while. I found myself just going through the motions, trying to get to the next level without really having that much fun.

That being said, the game's definitely got some laugh-out-loud moments. Like, I was playing with my friends and we were all trying to drink these super strong beers without passing out, and it was just chaos. People were stumbling around, throwing up, and face-planting into the floor. It was pretty ridiculous, and we were all dying laughing. So, I guess if you're playing with friends, the game's definitely more enjoyable. But solo, it's a bit of a slog.

I also appreciate that the game doesn't take itself too seriously. It's just a silly, over-the-top party game, and it knows it. The devs have clearly had a lot of fun with it, and it shows. From the ridiculous characters to the absurd party games, everything about Not Drunk Yet is just a bit...extra. And, you know, sometimes that's exactly what you need - a game that's just a bit silly, a bit absurd, and a lot of fun.

One thing that does bug me, though, is the lack of depth. Like, I said before, the gameplay's pretty one-note, and there's not a whole lot to it. You're not really progressing or unlocking new things, you're just trying to survive each level without getting too drunk. And, yeah, that gets old after a while. I mean, I've played games that are way more complex, way more challenging, and way more rewarding. Not Drunk Yet's just not really on that level.

Overall, I'd say Not Drunk Yet's a solid party game, but it's not really something you'll be playing solo for hours on end. It's a great game to whip out at a party or a gathering, but it's not really a game that'll keep you engaged for a long time. That being said, if you're looking for something silly, something absurd, and something that'll make you laugh, then Not Drunk Yet's definitely worth checking out. Just don't expect too much depth, and you'll be golden.
