Run Forrest Run Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last hour playing Run Forrest Run and I have to say, it's a pretty okay game. I mean, it's not like it's going to win any awards or anything, but it's a decent way to pass the time. The gameplay is basically just what you'd expect from a endless runner - you control Forrest as he runs through various environments, collecting coins and power-ups while avoiding obstacles. It's all pretty standard stuff, but it's executed well enough that it's still pretty fun.
One thing that I did like about the game is the way it incorporates elements from the movie into the gameplay. You'll see characters like Jenny and Lieutenant Dan popping up, and there are even levels that take place in iconic locations like the University of Alabama and the Vietnam War. It's clear that the developers are fans of the movie, and they did a good job of capturing its spirit. The graphics are also pretty nice, with colorful and detailed environments that really bring the game to life.
But despite all the positives, there are some things that hold the game back. For one thing, the controls can be a little finicky at times - I found myself getting frustrated when Forrest wouldn't jump or turn when I wanted him to. And the levels can get a little repetitive after a while - there are only so many times you can run through the same old environments before it starts to get boring. I also wish there were more power-ups and upgrades available - as it is, the game can get a little too easy once you've collected all the power-ups and upgrades.
I also have to say that I was a little disappointed by the lack of challenge in the game. I mean, I'm not looking for something that's going to frustrate me to the point of throwing my phone across the room, but I do like a game that can provide a good challenge. Run Forrest Run just doesn't really deliver in that department - once you've gotten the hang of it, it's pretty easy to just coast through level after level without really having to try. I guess that's okay if you're just looking for something casual to play, but if you're looking for something that's going to really test your skills, you might want to look elsewhere.
Overall, I'd say that Run Forrest Run is a solid, if unremarkable game. It's not going to blow you away with its originality or its challenge, but it's a fun way to pass the time and it's definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of the movie. Just don't expect too much in terms of depth or complexity - this is a game that's all about simple, mindless fun. And hey, sometimes that's exactly what you're in the mood for. So if you're looking for a game that's easy to pick up and play, and you don't mind a little repetition, then Run Forrest Run might be the game for you.
I'm not sure how much I'll be playing Run Forrest Run in the long term - like I said, it's a pretty casual game, and I tend to get bored with games like that after a while. But for now, it's been a fun distraction, and I'm happy to have it on my phone. If you're a fan of endless runners or just looking for something new to play, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. Just don't expect it to be the next big thing in gaming - it's just a simple, fun little game that's worth playing if you're in the mood for something light and easy.
