I just spent the last hour playing Wiggly Worm Race and I'm still trying to process my thoughts about it. I mean, the game is exactly what it says on the tin - you control a worm as it wiggles its way through a track, competing against other worms to get to the finish line first. It's a simple concept, but sometimes those are the most fun, right? The problem is, the execution is a bit lacking. The controls are pretty slippery, which I guess is fitting for a worm, but it makes it hard to get a good grip on the track.

The graphics are also pretty meh - the tracks and worms themselves look like they were ripped straight from a mobile game, and the backgrounds are just a blur of color. I'm not expecting AAA quality from a game called Wiggly Worm Race, but a bit more polish would be nice. The sound design is also pretty lacking - the sound effects are just a bunch of generic "whooshing" noises and the music is this annoyingly catchy tune that gets stuck in your head. I found myself turning the volume down just to focus on the game.

But despite all its flaws, I have to admit that Wiggly Worm Race is kind of... fun. There's something satisfying about wiggling your worm through a tight turn and passing an opponent, and the game has a weirdly addictive quality to it. I found myself playing "just one more level" over and over again, even though I was getting frustrated with the controls and graphics. Maybe it's just the nostalgia factor - the game reminds me of those old flash games I used to play as a kid, where you'd just mindlessly click away and compete for high scores.

The game also has a pretty robust multiplayer mode, which is where I think Wiggly Worm Race really shines. Playing against other human opponents is a whole different story - it's way more challenging and way more fun. You can really see the strategy come into play as you try to outmaneuver your opponents and get to the finish line first. The game also has a bunch of different tracks and game modes, which adds a lot of replay value. I can see myself coming back to this game just to play with friends and compete for the top spot.

One thing that really bothers me, though, is the microtransactions. I mean, I get it - the game is free to play, and the devs need to make money somehow. But it feels like they're pushing the in-game purchases way too hard. You can buy all sorts of upgrades and power-ups with real money, which gives players who are willing to spend a big advantage over everyone else. It feels like the game is trying to exploit players who are just looking for a fun, casual experience. I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with that, and it's definitely something that's going to keep me from playing the game as much as I might have otherwise.

Overall, I'd say Wiggly Worm Race is a solid 6 out of 10. It's not a great game, but it's not a bad one either. If you're looking for a fun, mindless experience to play with friends, you might get a kick out of it. Just be aware of the microtransactions and don't feel pressured to spend any money. And hey, who knows - you might just find yourself getting sucked into the world of competitive worm racing. Stranger things have happened, right?
