Zombie Waves 2 Review & Gameplay Guide
I just finished playing through Zombie Waves 2 and I have to say, it's a bit of a mixed bag. I mean, I love a good zombie shooter as much as the next guy, but this game didn't exactly blow me away. The basic idea is that you're stuck in a post-apocalyptic world, fighting off hordes of zombies that just keep coming and coming. It sounds awesome on paper, but in practice, it gets a bit repetitive. You're just standing in one spot, mowing down zombies with your gun, and every now and then you have to scavenge for ammo or health packs.
One thing I will say is that the graphics are pretty sweet. The zombies look gross and disgusting, just like they should, and the environments are all pretty detailed. I especially loved the abandoned city levels, with all the ruined buildings and debris-filled streets. It really added to the whole post-apocalyptic vibe. But, at the same time, the graphics aren't so good that they make up for the lackluster gameplay. I mean, I've seen better-looking games that were way more fun to play.
The gameplay itself is just so... generic. You've got your standard arsenal of guns, from pistols to shotguns to machine guns, and you just use them to blast away at the zombies. There's no real strategy or depth to it, you're just kind of mindlessly shooting away. And the zombies themselves are pretty stupid, they just kind of shamble towards you in a straight line, making it easy to pick them off. I mean, I know it's a zombie game, but can't they at least try to make it a little challenging? It's not like I'm asking for a super hard game or anything, just something that makes me feel like I'm actually accomplishing something.
As I kept playing, I started to notice that the levels were all pretty similar. You'd have your standard city level, your abandoned warehouse level, your creepy forest level... it all just started to feel like the same thing over and over again. And the zombies, despite looking different, all behave the same way. They just kind of stumble towards you, making it easy to kill them. I mean, where's the variety? Where's the challenge? It's just the same old thing, level after level, and it gets boring after a while.
Despite all my complaining, I did have some fun playing Zombie Waves 2. It's just one of those mindless games that you can play when you're bored and don't feel like thinking too much. And, I guess, if you're a huge zombie fan, you might enjoy it. The game's got a certain charm to it, and the sound effects are actually pretty cool. The zombies sound all groany and gross, and the guns sound nice and loud. So, if you're in the mood for something simple and fun, you might want to check it out. Just don't expect it to be, like, a super deep or complex game or anything.
Overall, I'd say Zombie Waves 2 is an average game. It's not great, but it's not terrible either. If you're a fan of zombie games, you might want to give it a shot, but if you're looking for something with a bit more depth or challenge, you might want to look elsewhere. I mean, it's not like it's a bad game or anything, it's just... it's just not that exciting. And, honestly, I've played better zombie games in the past, so I wouldn't say it's a must-play or anything. But hey, if you're bored and want something to waste a few hours on, it might be worth checking out.
